Dean Smith Coaching & Consulting

I’ve seen great, good, and truly awful leadership.

I help you do it properly.

From the boardroom to the ground, I work with leaders and organisations to raise the bar.
No jargon, no 200-page decks. Just clear people and leadership strategies that drive real results.

From the boardroom to the ground, I work with leaders and organisations to raise the bar. No jargon, no 200-page decks. Just clear people and leadership strategies that drive real results.

About Me

I’m Dean Smith - an executive coach, consultant, and people strategist with over 15 years of experience in leadership, culture, and organisational change. I’ve been in the boardroom, I’ve been on the ground, and I’ve seen what happens when leadership goes right, and when it doesn’t. That perspective shapes everything I do.

Academically and professionally, I’m a Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) and ILM Level 7 Executive Coach, holding Master’s and Undergraduate degrees in Business and HRM, with further advanced leadership study through the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve led people, culture, and change programmes across global corporations, public bodies, and SMEs. These experiences have shaped how I approach leadership and performance today.

I bring real-world experience, honest challenge, and practical action to help leaders and organisations perform at their best. Clients describe me as calm but direct, strategic but grounded.

Why Work With Me

I’ve worked across global corporates, public bodies, and SMEs. I’ve seen the full spectrum of leadership and culture: from inspiring to painful. The truth? Most organisations don’t need another model. They need straight talk, sharper focus, and leaders who know how to bring people with them.

My role is simple: to help you cut through noise, focus on what matters, and make change that sticks.

See what’s really going on -
beyond the noise and excuses.

Lead with clarity and intent -
not chaos and confusion.

Shift performance and culture -
focus on embedding change that sticks.

I’ve held senior people and change roles within and alongside organisations such as:

What I Do

Whether it’s one leader or an entire organisation, my job is simple: to make people, performance, and leadership work better, and to sustain that momentum.

For Individual Leaders and Teams

Coaching that challenges your thinking and turns reflection into action.

  • Executive & Leadership Coaching — straight-talking sessions that build focus, confidence, and accountability.

  • Change & Transition Coaching — for leaders steering through uncertainty, restructuring, or growth.

  • Team Coaching & Facilitation — focused, energising sessions that build trust, sharpen priorities, and create momentum.

Coaching is tailored to your needs, we’ll identify goals together, and make sure progress is driven forward after every conversation.

For Organisations

Hands-on consulting and fractional people leadership support to help you strengthen how you lead, engage, and grow your people.

I work directly with CEOs, MD’s, Chief People Officers, and Senior Leaders to:

  • Design leadership programmes that drive behaviour change and accountability.

  • Redesign talent, succession, and performance systems that develop people and are linked to strategic organisational needs.

  • Enhance communication and engagement strategies so employees understand, connect, and act.

  • Design and deliver change and culture programmes with clear strategic visions and tailored adoption plans.

However we work together, the aim is simple — clarity, traction, and results that last.

How It Works

1-1 Coaching

Focused, practical, and challenging in all the right ways.

I’ll help you see what’s really holding things back, ask the uncomfortable questions, and push you to take action that creates value and drives progress.

My approach:

  • Challenge with purpose – cut through assumptions and focus on what really matters.

  • Build confidence and clarity – so every decision feels grounded and deliberate.

  • Turn insight into action – creating momentum that lasts beyond the session.

Consulting & Fractional Support

No frameworks for the sake of it. No endless slides.

When the challenge is bigger than one person, I step in as a strategic and hands-on partner — methodical, practical, and focused on results.

My approach:

  • Understand what’s really happening – gather evidence, insights, and honest conversations.

  • Design solutions that work – leadership programmes, people strategies, or change frameworks that shift behaviour.

  • Embed and sustain – build internal capability so progress continues long after I step back.
